A new model for simulating undulator radiation has been developed for the ray-tracing software SHADOW4. This model is designed to accurately represent the characteristics of modern, fourth-generation synchrotron X-ray sources.
To ensure the reliability of its new-generation beamlines, the ESRF is addressing a materials engineering challenge by adopting and rigorously testing the copper alloy CuCr1Zr for manufacturing durable, high-performance heat-absorbing components.
